Je m'appelle  Elle.

Yes - that's me in the middle. In front of the beautiful Palais Royal in Paris. Paris - the city that holds the roots of my distant lineage. The city of bohemians, romance, the Moulin Rouge, and boudoir. The place where my love for photography began when I was just fifteen. Wandering on this immense square with a story to tell. Those black-and-white pillars - rising and falling in perfect rhythm - remind me of "my" Alice in Wonderland, a world where imagination bends reality and anything seems possible. A photographer on the left. A couple in love on the right. Coincidence, or exactly the two things I've always been drawn to?

Feminine beauty always fascinates me - in a face, body, in art, in nature. I don't fully know why. Maybe it's ancient, this pull toward what's whole, balanced, in golden ratio. It gives me a kind of rest inside the chaos, a wonder I keep chasing through the lens.

I grew up loving myths, symbolism, and the worlds of fantasy - stories where light and shadow co-exist, where women are both muse and force. That sense of magic, of walking through a fairytale while staying grounded in truth, still shapes how I create: atmospheric, cinematic tiny stories with often with a touch of surreal edges.

Walking through Paris in the rain, I remember why I do this. For her. Elle - the universal she - was already in my name.

And "her" has always meant more than one woman. According to my Human Design, the Left Angle Cross of Refinement, my task doesn't end with myself - it extends to the collective: to refine, and to pass on what might otherwise be lost. Maybe that's why I've been photographing women for twenty-five years. To capture and help remember what was already there. So many women's stories have never been written down, never truly seen. I feel drawn to those lost stories, to the women who came before us. I believe that remembering our consciousness as women, our sensuality, is a key to coming home to the self.

Daniëlle Guillonard (The Netherlands, 1980) is a self-taught photographer and visual artist with twenty years of experience behind the camera. She began her career in wedding photography in 2008. Among the first in the Netherlands to embrace boudoir photography, she introduced it through intimate bridal sessions - created as a personal gift and a quiet celebration of femininity. Over time, this work evolved into a deeper artistic exploration of how women see, feel, and inhabit themselves. Her artistic roots lie on the stage, where she once performed as a dancer, singer, and actress. This background continues to inform her visual language today - present in the sense of theatrical boldness, glamour, and cinematic feel that runs through her work.

Guided by intuition, refinement, and a strong connection to the feminine gaze, Daniëlle creates tiny stories that are expressive, layered, and intimate. While she occasionally photographs men, women remain at the heart of her practice. She understands the courage it takes to be seen, and honors presence, softness, and inner strength. Alongside commissioned portraits, Daniëlle loves projects where fantasy, mythology, and feminine symbolism intertwine. Each work is an invitation - to remember, to feel, and to reconnect with the quiet power within. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and art fairs, and is available as limited-edition fine art prints.
